[ He's not expecting that. The shirt catches him full-on in the face. Which, as he's leaning back on the stool with his legs over Ray's lap, is enough to throw him off balance.

Ray won't see the surprise on his face, but he will see his arms flail out and feel Leonard's legs lift. It's a slow-mo 'oh shit' moment that has to be seen to be believed. Leonard's never been more graceful. ]

[ This has happened before, the first time they kissed and Ray can't help laughing even as he grabs Len's legs to help him recover his balance.

He'll pay for the laughter, he knows, but he can't help himself. ]

[ With Ray's help he's able to right himself, yanking the shirt off his face in the process. ]

Hey! Best watch yourself, Haircut. You wanna get kissed again?

[ He scowls and gives Ray's stomach a light kick, but he can only hold it for so long before cracking a smile. Chuckling, then laughing, arms wrapped around himself.

Leonard doesn't laugh often. There's just something about Ray that brings it out in him. Maybe because they keep ending up here. In this strange, comfortable place. ]

You mean you didn't do it on purpose so we'd end up kissing?

[ The first time Len had kissed him to shut him up; this time it's Ray who leans in, before Len stops laughing. ]

[ Ray will feel Leonard laugh against his mouth before going still, one hand coming up to grip into the back of Ray's hair. It feels good to laugh. It feels good to kiss. All in all, Leonard feels good.

Which means something, somehow, is going to go wrong. Because bad men don't deserve to feel good, and Leonard's been bad for as long as he can or wants to remember.

His other hand grabs Ray by one muscular bicep, pulling himself closer, until he's sitting in Ray's lap like the first time they kissed. He wants to enjoy this while it lasts. ]

[ That kiss feels so long ago now, but Ray remembers it clearly. He remembers that even drunk as he'd been, he couldn't enjoy it properly.

He's sober now, and it feels better— it feels right. He kisses back, hungry and demanding, wrapping an arm around him to keep him steady. ]

[ Leonard likes it best when Ray takes what he wants. So he can tell himself this isn't one-sided. That he's not just taking advantage of Ray, the way the rest of the world seems to. Truth is, Ray is too good for him, and the only reason Ray doesn't know that is because he's too good.

Leonard's fingers knead into him, nails leaving crescents in Ray's skin. Just as desperate. ]

[ They should move this to a bedroom, but Ray doesn't want to break whatever spell they have going by suggesting it, so instead his hands go from Len's back to the waist of Len's pants to get them open.

Ray knows Leonard doesn't always feel like shirtless make-outs, so stripping is always on his terms, but there are no rules against touching. ]

[ It shouldn't be so easy to let Ray kiss him, to let Ray touch him, but it is. Has been for a while. Months, now. Even before they'd screwed he'd known his feelings for Ray went beyond tolerance, or even acceptance.

He trusts Ray.

Which is why he takes off his shirt while Ray makes short work of his pants, and lets this happen on Ray's turf, and on Ray's terms. Doesn't take the lead, because he knows wherever he follows Ray, it's someplace he wants to go. ]
